The five-email launch sequence that turns a list into first buyers
A single announcement reaches a fraction of your list and converts a fraction of that. Five short emails over six days, each with one job, is what actually produces first sales — and all five can be written before you open the store.
1. One job per email
Day 1 tells the story of the problem and names the launch date. Day 2 shows the deliverable — actual screenshots of actual files. Day 4 answers the three objections you already hear most. Day 5 shares one specific buyer result. Day 6 closes with a bonus expiring at a stated hour and timezone. Nothing is repeated, so nobody feels spammed, and every email gives a reason to open the next one.
2. Subject lines that describe, not tease
'The pricing sheet is inside' outperforms 'You won't believe this' because it sets an expectation the email then meets. Teases spike once and collapse; description compounds. Keep the first body line independent of the subject — most clients show it as preview text, so repeating the subject wastes the only extra line you get.
3. Recovery is part of the launch, not a reaction
Two follow-ups do most of the recovery: one about an hour after an abandoned checkout, assuming a technical problem and offering help, and one at 24 hours restating the refund policy and the deadline. Write and schedule both before day one. Recovery written in a hurry always reads as pressure.
4. Read the numbers after the close
During the week, only two numbers matter: checkout opens and paid orders. Afterwards, write down open rate and clicks per email and where checkouts stalled. That table becomes the template for the next launch, and it is the only reliable way to tell whether your problem is traffic, the listing or the price.

FAQ
- How many emails should a digital product launch have?
- Five over about six days works for most small lists: story, deliverable, objections, proof, close.
- Will five emails make people unsubscribe?
- A few will, and that is fine — they were not going to buy. Descriptive subject lines and one job per email keep complaints near zero.
- When should cart-recovery emails send?
- One hour after the abandoned checkout and again at 24 hours. Later than that and the intent has decayed.
