Questions
- What is a healthy churn rate for a membership?
- For a low-priced creator membership, 5-8% monthly churn is common and 3-5% is strong. Every point of churn you remove raises the long-run MRR ceiling substantially.
- How is lifetime value calculated?
- Average lifetime is one divided by the monthly churn rate, so 5% churn means a 20-month average life. Lifetime value is that number multiplied by the monthly price.
- What is the MRR ceiling?
- With steady signups, MRR settles where new revenue equals churned revenue: monthly new members times price divided by the churn rate.
